We're considering moving to Vegas partly because of the lifestyle scene. But we've only visited as tourists. Is the local scene actually strong or is it mostly tourists passing through? What's the real community like for residents?

Vegas local here — the resident lifestyle community is way stronger than most tourists realize. There are thousands of lifestyle couples living in Henderson, Summerlin, and the southwest valley. The local scene has its own rhythm that's separate from the tourist flow. Red Rooster is the local hangout — you'll see the same friendly faces week after week. Whispers caters heavily to locals. Eden After Dark's keyholder community is majority local. The house party scene in the suburbs (especially Henderson and Summerlin) is very active. What tourists see is Green Door and maybe a hotel takeover. What locals experience is a tight-knit community with multiple options every weekend, regular meetup groups, and lifestyle friends who become real friends. If you move here, you'll have no trouble finding your people.

We moved to Henderson from Phoenix 2 years ago and the local scene blew us away. Within a month we had a regular crew of lifestyle friends. The community is welcoming because so many people are transplants — everyone remembers being new. Plus, the lack of a state income tax means more money for club nights and trips to Desire.
